I am making an argyle vest (specifically, the argyle vest from Erika Knight’s Men’s Knits: 20 New Classics. I’ve made half a dozen sweaters from this book, my go-to for men’s sweaters.
#1 son suggested that I practice argyle in something smaller first, and I found a pattern called “Java Jerkin” with an argyle pattern. Accordingly, I knitted up this nice little java jerkin in random scraps.
The vest is in a smaller gauge, so I think the diamonds will come out okay. The rakers for the vest are done in duplicate stitch, so I won’t need to worry about them, though I liked knitting them in for the java jerkin.

My intarsia was extremely messy. Forewarned is forearmed, right? I must buy bread so I’ll have bread tags to use as bobbins.
