I have a new book from Burda:
If you have a 42″ bust and a 32″ waist, or a 48″ bust and a 41″ waist, or anywhere in between, yo are full figured enough to use this book.
Burda’s designs aren’t always simple, but the ones in this book are. The black dress below is a bit more complex, but most designs have two or three main pieces.
There are a couple of nice tunics:
Glamorous and vintage-look dresses:
A jacket, also in coat length. There are other jackets, but all are unconstructed.
A two-piece knit includes a color-blocked top and skirt.
A sweet bow-tied blouse and simple pants are blurred here, but the blouse has a front and back piece with a suggestion of sleeves cut on.
If you’re luxuriously built, you could definitely make yourself a wardrobe. The patterns include knits and wovens, and the fabric is definitely the star in most of the designs. There are skinny pants, relaxed pants with a wide turn-down waistband, a skirt with darts on the outside, a japonesque vest — that is, the pieces are not all comfy classics. But the classics are there.
I’ll come back once I’ve actually made something and let you know how the book is in use.
