The day after Thanksgiving I set out this brunch spread: strata with bacon and cheese made from Thanksgiving rolls, four kinds of berries, cherries, banana muffins, yogurt, and orange juice that became mimosas.
We played Civilization. The children came over later and we enjoyed hanging out with them, too. #2 son packed up all his gear and a bunch of other stuff we had provided — a new wardrobe from the Good Ol’ Boy, a couple of pairs of pants and a few shirts from Vine, Christmas presents, Kung Fu noodles, a badminton set, and my great-grandmother’s kneading bowl and rolling pin.
We won’t see him at Christmas, probably, but it was very good to see him at Thanksgiving.
