La Bella and I went to an excellent concert at the university. Donald Grantham’s “J’ai ete au bal,” some Turkish-style pieces and the world premier of a choral arrangements of “The Lads of Wamphrey.”
The introduction to the concert included the plans of the student musicians who were graduating. They intended to do things like encouraging the percussion ensemble in the new music scene, or helping homeless people to reach their goals, or playing in a major symphonic orchestra. One hoped to be gainfully employed as a music teacher.
La Bella and I smiled fondly and clapped for them. I hope they all reach their goals.
