I went for my regular eye exam yesterday, and discovered that I have early stage non-proliferating diabetic retinopathy with macular edema.

I thought I had been given every possible medical test, but I had another — an eye scan — and must go in tomorrow for some more. There may be injections in my eye.

This is horrifying. Also scary. I’ve kept my A1C below 7 for more than a year. I was told that if I did so, I would have no greater chance of diabetic complications than a person without diabetes. What’s up with that?

I’m still dizzy, too. I’m trying out T’ai Chi in hopes of finally overcoming vertigo. I can’t be expected to keep up with so many medical issues at once, can I?

I got started on my Christmas gift knitting, but it is analytics week and between that and the worry over my eyes I’m having trouble focusing on Kids Room Week, which is for me actually Office Week.
