I think this 2% must be Vikings. William the Conqueror turns up on our family tree.
As for people with actual records and evidence, none have Norwegian names and none were born in Norway.
Ancestry includes Iceland and the Faroe Islands in this grouping. We don’t have any of those folks, either, but I do like Icelandic knitting traditions. Norwegian, too, for that matter. The Faroe Islands also have a strong knitting tradition, but I don’t know much about it.
As you can tell, I am grasping at straws here. I guess this is the most exotic and surprising part of my DNA story, though I think we must be talking about Vikings, far back before the evidence available to me.
