Scotland also includes part of France. As I looked for English people yesterday I realized that all those Revolutionary War soldiers and such were probably English. Some of those Americans from the 16th and 17th centuries also were Scottish.
I haven’t found many Scottish folks in my family tree. Some of them are famous people, which makes me question whether they belong on the tree or not. I know that people stretch to get lords and ladies on their family trees. Sometimes they don’t belong there. Our Margaret Douglas probably wasn’t the daughter of the Earl ofMarch, because Earls didn’t usually send their daughters off to the colonies.
But 25%? That’s the equivalent of my having a Scottish grandparent. There must be some Scottish people in my history. Unless of course it’s just more French people not identified with France.
