I like the SWAP system, obviously, but there is a bit of a problem with it.
I am a person who spends 50 or 60 hours a week at the computer. Even if I make it to church every week and have a physical meeting each week, enjoy a social event, and teach a class each week, I’m not spending most of my time in a silk shantung pencil skirt suit with an Italian floral shell, am I?
So Storyboard #3 doesn’t follow the rules, but it is more appropriate for what I actually do. A couple of pairs of pants in natural fibers and a few beautiful smocks would let me be comfortable at the computer but still able to answer the door confidently and I could put on a jacket and head out to a meeting.
In the fantasy version of this weekend, I’ll make the muslins for the pants and smock and see how I like them. And the dress, too, if this is a fantasy. Then next week, after my house is clean and the laundry is done and I have groceries in and all, I’ll make the final decision and start my SWAP.
