Thus endeth the first week of the Fit Life Challenge. I’ve met most of the official requirements, but there is also the list of Skinny Rules.

  1. Drink a glass of water before each meal. I keep forgetting about this one, but I remember in time to have the glass with the meal.
  2. Don’t drink your calories. I’m good on that one.
  3. Eat protein at every meal. I’ve been doing this, too.
  4. Slash refined flours and grains. I’m actually doing worse on this one, with the long family weekend and the leftovers.
  5. Eat 30-50 grams of fiber a day. I’ve got this one.
  6. Eat apples and berries every day. I’m doing this one.
  7. No carbs after lunch. I’ve done this one one exactly one day.
  8. Learn to read food labels. Most of my food has no labels.
  9. Perfect portion size. No problems here.
  10. No added sweeteners. How many days have I done without sugar? Zero.
  11. No white potatoes. None.
  12. One meatless day each week. This didn’t happen.
  13. Get rid of fast foods and fried foods. Done.
  14. Eat a real breakfast. Every day.
  15. Eat at least 10 meals a week at home. Yep.
  16. Banish high-salt foods. I’ve eaten chips this week, something I rarely do.
  17. Eat your vegetables. I’ve got this one.
  18. Go to bed hungry. MOst days but not all.
  19. Sleep right. I’m not sleeping well.
  20. Plan one splurge meal a week. Lots of splurge meals!

So yeah, I haven’t done very well. I’ve lost two tenths of a pound. Carrying on.
