Sewing up and setting in the sleeves should have been simple.
Tailoring class smoothed over it with a sort of, “Just do it the way it says in the package.”
But I sewed the top piece of the right sleeve to the bottom piece of the left sleeve, and had to take it apart. Then I sewed the left sleeve into the right armscye and had to take it apart. So yesterday evening was filled entirely with sleeves.
I think that I now have the sleeves sewn properly and basted.I have however run out of thread. You might think that one spool of thread would be enough for one jacket, but if you do it right, it isn’t. I must venture out and try to match it so that I can sew the sleeves in and then it’s on to the lining and front facings.
Continuing cautiously optimistic…
