Here’s how I feel today, from head to toe.
My head has a tightness like a band around my forehead. Not exactly a headache, but not great. My eyes are itchy and watery. I’m sniffly, with a sort of dribbling down the back of my throat. There’s a word for that… oh, yes, “post-nasal drip.” I’ve got that.
Therefore, I also have a sore throat.
My shoulders are tense and sore.
Then it gets worse. My hips, buttocks, and the backs of my thighs hurt a lot. It hurts to sit. It hurts a lot to stand up — I mean the process of going from sitting to standing. Standing, once I am standing, is not bad. Walking is fine. Stretching even feels sort of good.
But I have to work sitting, which is to say in pain. And in the evening, after dinner and cleanup, I sit down and knit, read, write my reviews, watch mystery shows on Roku. Lots of discomfort there.
Lying in bed on my back is too painful. I have to turn over. Then I wake up in the morning and the pain begins again.
It’s so distracting.
In other news, I started the sleeves of Afmaeli. This is a yoked sweater where you knit the body and the sleeves, put them all together, and knit the yoke. I am not sure that I have ever made this kind of sweater before.
At the top of the post, you can see some knitting jewelry which is a very clever row counter. Below, the start of a sleeve. The row counter keeps me accurate with the increases, but the sleeve seems too small to me. I think I would usually speed up the increases to fix that, and thus end up with unlatching sleeves.
Instead I may have too skinny sleeves. But they might match.
It is Guest Room week. I haven’t gotten a lot done, but the section shown below is a bit better than it was.
Actually, it’s better than this. This was the result of Day 1. What with work and misery and whatnot, I haven’t taken more photos, but I have gotten a little bit more done. Tomorrow.
