With the completion of the HP2020 Secret PJs Club sew along, I’m back to knitting. I’m working on the Boniface top for Little #1 (AKA Grand #3) and I’m also getting on with the Chimera, but I’m also looking at new patterns.

Interweave’s summer issue has some beautiful patterns.

This is my favorite, and I will definitely make it. It’s got a Japanese-style cable and it’s made in worsted-weight yarn. I have enough on hand and will swatch soon. But this is not the next project. I want to use the Venus Prism yarn which has been ripening in my stash for a year or two, to make a lace sweater.

This issue has a whole bunch of light weight lace sweaters. It’s like a lesson on options for including lace.

There are sweaters with lace borders, boxy sweaters with no shaping to interfere with the lace, and a range of ways to keep the lace modest so the sweaters don’t have to be worn over a cami — plus very light and open pieces to be worn over something.

This design has allover lace on the back, and a border on the front.

This one has lace sleeves and yoke with a solid body.

Very pretty, and I love the tropical colors. I was wanting to make a cardigan with allover lace, which is the one configuration not included in this issue. But I will think about this as I work on Boniface.
