I decided to try adding guidelines in sewing thread to improve my chances of making the rakers accurate.

I alternated among embroidering the rakers, taking them back out, and working on the neckband.

In the end, the neckband is too high and tight.

The rakers are still wonky.

Sigh. I’ll be frogging and unpicking and trying again.

Now, I have gone cold sheep for yarn in 2019, but I ordered some (for excellent reasons) and it came today, its chilly wooly box nestled up next to my Blue Apron shipment of bok choy and zucchini.

This is KnitPicks Cot-Lin for a summer tank, in a Conch shade that I hope is close enough to Pantone’s 2019 Living Coral. Close enough to count, that is, so that I can make something in the Color of the Year.

Also Luminance in Thoughtful, a true emerald green, for a birthday shawl for #2 son’s sweetheart. Lovely stuff.

I did some housekeeping, had telephone and text conversations, and filled a bag of books to donate. But mostly this is a day for quietly knitting and enjoying my solitude.
