I’ve been on insulin for nearly a week. My BG numbers are good, even if I eat a couple of tablespoons of ice cream. Of course, this is homemade ice cream with lots of fruit. I’ve also had banana sorbet, made with nothing but bananas. It’s not that I feel live is not worth living without ice cream. It’s just better not to have to obsess over food choices. I can just have my balanced plate — half non-starchy veg, I/4 lean proteins 1/4 complex carbs.

If I also get in the exercise and take my 6 units of insulin on time, my blood glucose numbers are good.

No side effects. No troubles.
