Donald Trump has been elected president of the United States. I feel as though I am trapped in a weird made-for-TV movie. It’s hard to imagine someone less suitable for the position.

Hillary Clinton won the popular vote.

Nobody knows what’s going to happen.

It’s Thursday today. One week ago I was getting ready for my road trip. The past week has been very stressful. I’ve spent four hours in a car on four of the days. I was not alone for more than a few minutes on any day. I had the positive stress of an excellent conference and the negative stress of a quarrel with my son and my husband’s continuing issues. I haven’t eaten properly on any one of those days and have snacked on every one of them. I got in some exercise on two of those days, plus a bit of walking but my FitBit died so I don’t know how much. I haven’t slept well, either, so the basic Eat, Move, Sleep has been entirely disrupted.

I had a good time at WordCamp Omaha, learned a lot, and enjoyed spending time with my daughter. The election has been a shock and I am still horrified and anxious for the future.

But I am going to get my habits back on track. I have lots of interesting work to do and many blessings to count. America has had weird presidents and bad presidents, though probably never any as bad as this. We have the historical example of Hitler before us so we can make sure not to repeat that scenario. And God is in control.
