Yesterday was Epiphany. I read the liturgy in church, and got to say, “Arise! Shine! for your light has come,” something I have often sung but rarely said. I flatter myself that I said it with more conviction than some people could. This may be why I was chosen. I can see the guys saying, “They have to say, ‘Arise! Shine!” I’m not going to say that! Who would say that?”

I ran into a former student in church. She’s about my age and I always liked her, and I talked her ear off.

Then I settled in to work on #1 daughter’s gift, and in the evening we went to the airport and picked up my husband. It’s nice to have him home, although he woke me up at 2:30 a.m. Kind of hostile of him, wasn’t it?

I’m forgiving him.

I got a whole lot of work done today, fortunately. If I can keep it up for the rest of the week, I should be caught up.

I managed it on a steady diet of meat and veg, too.
