The horrible dog (I won’t name names) kept me up all night with his whining and crying, so I got up just in time to rush off to Jammin’ Java to meet a friend for morning coffee.
Next was the farmers’ market, where I scored some Cream Sausage tomatoes, bitter melon, late peaches, and some beautiful lettuces, as well as the predictable squash and filet beans. I hit the deli just as the sky opened with rain, and got home with the provisions shortly after #1 daughter arrived.
We are going to stay in today with the thunderstorms going on around us. Movies may be on the schedule.
Enjoy your weekend!
Maybe the horrible dog [if I’m recalling correctly, this has happened several times recently] is howling because it needs to go out? As dogs get older, the amount of time they can wait between “outs” gets shorter, just as it does for human beings. If that’s it, you’d probably get more sleep if you’d get up and let it out and let it back in again. Just a suggestion.
What’s a Cream Sausage tomato?
@ozarque – We’ve tried that. However, #2 son thought of a solution. He determined that Toby was lonely. People have been staying up late, now they’re going to bed at reasonable times, and Toby figures the party has moved and he wasn’t invited. So #2 son took Toby’s crate into his bedroom, and now Toby is happy. Spicer’s crate used to be in #2 son’s bedroom, and is now out in the kitchen where Toby’s was. So now Spicer barks. But the barking is not as bad as the whining, and we figure Spicer will give up sooner than Toby, because Toby is too dumb to live, and therefore doesn’t give up just because something isn’t working.
@fibermom – Not so dumb! His whining did work, he is now in #2 son’s bedroom and happy. And anyhow, Toby is cute and lovable, not ‘too dumb to live’
