My schedule is off. I should wake at 5:30 and be ready to work by 7:00, then finish at 6:00 and spend the evening knitting and reading. Sleep by 10:00.

Instead, I wake at 7:00 after a disturbed night…

Disturbed when my husband comes to bed, when his alarm goes off, when he actually gets up, when the cats quarrel, when the dog whines… and lately  both my husband and I have had nighttime leg cramps.

They wake me up, and I point and draw back my foot until the cramp passes. My husband gets up and stomps around saying, “Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow owow!”

Night time lag cramps are associated with all sorts of conditions, from pregnancy to diabetes. Also cold, exercise, lack of minerals, dehydration, kidney disease, and such. I don’t know what my husband and I could both have. Dehydration seemed likely when it started, because I’d been crying a lot and I was having dry mouth and eyes. But now I wonder about the minerals. I have started making smoothies with yogurt, in spite of the Evil 6 restrictions.

It is cold, of course.

Anyway, I wake at 7:00 and don’t get ready for work until 8:30 unless I skip things on my good habits list. Then I don’t have lunch till 2:00 or later, and I’m not hungry at dinner time. Often I keep working until 7:00 or later. I’m tired before 10:00, but not ready to sleep.

I could sleep apart from my husband or set an alarm for 5:00 a.m. Then I’ll get back on track, I hope.
