I thought I’d see how many steps I’d have in an ordinary day without my Wii Fit 30 minutes. Wii Fit actually suggested that I take the day off, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity. How many steps are involved in a normal day of church, cooking, cleaning, reading, and work? Less than 5,000. Less than two miles, even though I took the dog for a walk in the evening.
Clearly, that morning exercise is essential. But walking the dog is not a serious contributor to my totals — a stroll with my elderly dog on a hot evening lasts noticeably less than half an hour.
I need to think of some fairly natural way to add some steps to my day…
