We had a client meeting this morning, #1 daughter and I. We chatted about navigation, taxonomies, charts, and spotlight boxes, and then we talked about modern youth and the effects of social media.
Kids aren’t allowed to go out and play, to learn how to take care of themselves and how to amuse themselves. They want to be connected at all times and they expect to be commended at all times.
By the time they get a job, they have no idea how to take initiative or to gain satisfaction from accomplishing their work.
This was the client’s position, and there’s certainly some value in it.
It doesn’t apply to my kids, of course.
