I had an epic project underway — the lovely Chimera, which is actually in my Fall Collection. I’m not sure what I’ve done with it.

I also had a zombie project, the Textured Vest in brown llama wool. But I can see that I won’t have enough of that to complete the project. While I wait on negotiations, I looked at my stash to find a possible backup. I found some gray handspun sheep’s wool. I swatched a simple color chart.

For color work, you need a smooth, even, fine yarn. Clearly, this is not a good option for color work. Stripes, maybe. Maybe even a very simple color pattern like lice or XO. I guess I’ll wait another day or two for the llama yarn.

I also swatched for the Lucy Hat. The pattern specifies the yarn I bought, so it is not surprising that I got the right gauge. But I also started the Lucy Hat, and I have no excuse for that. I have another zombie project, after all — the gray Textured Vest.

Now I have four WIPs. Okay, probably eight. But four in the top layer: one sweater for me and three Christmas gifts.
