I got to hear #1 son’s band live for the first time, at the Skyspace at Crystal Bridges. They were very good. I’m proud of him, of course. #1 daughter, the Good Ol’ Boy, and my husband came too.

It was nice to sit on the grass with them and listen to the music. First was a duo who sang old songs — “Frankie and Johnnie,” “John Henry,” “Wildwood Flower” — with historical notes. Then the band we had come to see. Children played and gamboled on the grass around us, the moon shone through the clouds, and all was right with the world.

Driving home afterwards was a little fraught, and then I stayed up past midnight finishing the Friday blog posts. You have to do what you say you’ll do. That’s all there is to it.

My husband had to go to work today. I plan to take some time off. A bit of housework, some yoga, reading, List Week chores, maybe some sewing… That’s the plan.
