My mother died today, possibly last night. I heard about it at 3:18 a.m.
She’s been gone for so long, it seems silly to be grieving now, but I can’t help it. We knew she would not recover, that there was really no hope that her mental function would return, but I guess as long as she lived there was some possibility that my mother was still in there somewhere.
She was a remarkable woman.
So sorry. Losing a loved one changes the whole world. I read her blog after you mentioned it and wound up at the library reading about linguistics for the first time since college. Her work om verbal self-defense was enlightening and helpful. Best wishes.
Thank you.
