#1 daughter and #1 son brought their kids and a dog over for lunch. We had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, cherries, and pie. We played board games and had some good conversations, and then I settled in to knit and watch Season 7 of Suits.

The Quixote Scarf. I put in stitch markers between the pattern repetitions, which I should have done in the first place. It’s going quite well now. I have decided to ignore the early errors. When I wear the shawl, my hair will cover them.
The neighbors are setting off firecrackers, so I will probably be up late reading. I took the day off apart from a couple of hours of work, though. There is still a huge amount of work waiting to be done, so I may regret it, but #1 daughter insisted. She’s probably right. I’ve already worked more than 22 hours this week and I have three more meetings coming up. A holiday is just what I needed.
