I redid parts, then moved on to the next step and basted all around the permiter.
We are now supposed to press it, and then we’ll go on to line the sleeves and otherwise finish it up.
It doesn’t look bad. If the rest is all handstitching, I won’t be able to screw it up any further, assuming I don’t attempt the topstitching.
So the important questions are these:
- Will it turn out well enough to be wearable?
- Have I learned enough that I’ll be able to make more jackets, and perhaps more successful ones, in future?
- Could I fix any part of what I don’t like about it at the moment?
I’m going to continue with it and hope to press it successfully and then to finish it. I have moved from autious optimism to mild fatalism.
