Here you see some serious play of the game my sister sent us for Christmas: Ticket to Ride. It starts out seeming very simple  but gets challenging very quickly.

We really like to play games — social games, the kind where you can talk while you play.

It has been great to have all the kids home. I had sort of forgotten how much time in the kitchen it requires to feed this many people three times a day, and how much food.

You forget that part, just as you forget the pain of childbirth. You just remember the good stuff.

That’s how it ought to be.

Getting to play games with my kids is definitely the good stuff.

We’re back to work, at least for a few days, and then we need to develop new goals for the new year and have a fine new start.

I’m looking forward to 2013.
