I went back to the gym yesterday, briefly. I had done my cardio at home (long story) so I just trotted around the weight machines. As an older woman, I can peer at the instructions and try everything out with 10 lb weights and nobody pays any attention, so I did.

It’s possible that nobody paid any attention when I was younger, either, but I know I would have felt self-conscious about being obviously and completely inept. No longer.

The machines are called Tuff Stuff. I tried them all — 12 reps with 10 lbs of weight every time. This is not the right way to do it. However, I do have some slightly sore muscles today, so it wasn’t a complete waste of time.

I’m meeting today with The New Girl and I also have a phone meeting, so I won’t be hitting the gym today. Tomorrow, though, for sure. I’ve now lost 18 pounds.
