I haven’t been going anywhere. I’ve been absorbing solitude and sloth like a battery this weekend, while also getting the Baby’s dress knitted up.
Amazon also had a remarkable new book for the Baby.
The cake in the picture is a Pineapple Angel Food Cake. This is a two ingredient cake recipe. Like baked goods from mixes in general, it’s too sweet. But it is less insipid than the usual angel food cake. And it is certainly quick and easy to make.
Beat together a package of angel food cake mix and a 20 oz can of crushed pineapple. Bake 40 minutes at 350.
The flavor is reminiscent of a pineapple upside down cake without the awesome buttery caramel taste. But also without actually making a cake.
In one of the Craftsy baking classes, baker Wilhelm explained the difference between a cake and a torte. A cake, he said has only one or two ingredients. With this cake, it’s true.
