Maybe not woe. But maybe. This is #2 son’s Christmas vest, the Simple Vest from Erika Knight’s Men’s Knits. I had knitted up two skeins of Knitpicks Cobblestone worsted wool and went to get the third skein.
There was no third skein. Apparently I ordered the Cobblestone for a pair of slippers.
Instead I found a nice quantity of Orca City Tweed Aran, a much more exciting yarn. A bit heavier weight, too, and the Cobblestone had been knitting up a bit looser than I wanted.
I admit that for a moment I considered just continuing with the Orca, but it was only a moment. I’m starting over, of course.
I was congratulating myself on making such good progress with my Christmas knitting. Now I must start again. Sigh.
But actually I’m a lot happier with this yarn. Swatching now.
On the positive side, I’ve gotten a second batch of cookies into the freezer for Christmas. These involve oats and fresh cranberries, as well as chocolate.
